Lovin’ It

28 Sep

It’s been a slow week. Here’s what’s been keeping me entertained:

Theme Song: Meet me and it won’t take you long to learn I LOVE thrift shops. This song (with NSFW lyrics) is totally addictive. To borrow from the lyrics, this video “is f@3$ing awesome” and actually features some of my favorite haunts around town.

Tom Kundig: The kindly folks at ZAAZ/Possible threw an open house with Tom Kundig. He chatted a little about his process, his inspirations and keeping things simple, elegant and a fit with their surroundings. His talk sent me waaayyy deep into aspirational house and lifestyle lusting. I will have to settle for a book or a Rolling Hut rental for now.

Sou’wester Lodge: This little RV/cabin/travel trailer park on the coast that sparked my interest might be a harder sell than the huts for friends. The accommodations look equal parts awesome and kooky-dive. If nothing else it would delay my required trip to The Shady Dell in AZ a little longer.

Terrific scenery. Do the huts really roll? They do have wheels. This looks like some of the tiny places I find while cruising the web. Very interesting. Funny video as well, probably tossing and foraging just like you.

Apparently they do move, but not far or fast. Tom mentioned it was a zoning work around, but when wheels were added, they were considered mobile homes, so didn’t even need permits.
